About China
The first strong impression of China came to me already in the plane. It was a late flight, in the darkness, and the last hour before our landing one could see in the illuminator a sea of lights … after the endless and uninhabited Siberian expanses it really impressed. Tianjin Airport is of the world standards level: cleanliness, luster, quick and polite service.
The way from Tianjin Airport to Beijing takes about 1,5- 2 hours. Here the second my strong impression emerged - despite the late Sunday evening, the ceaseless flow of trucks of different kinds and sizes. The Beijing in itself struck me with the scope of construction. All central streets are all-round construction sites. Works on many objects are twenty-four-hour, the 20-30-storeyed sky-scrapers grow within 6-10 months. There is a feeling that the Chinese decided to build a new city by the Olympic Games of 2008.

By the way, the Olympic Games are really impatiently awaited and everything is getting ready for it. There is a large indicator board- watch, which are counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds, remaining till the Olympic Games. All the TV channels launched the educational programs by way of quizzes, contests and mini-shows teaching English language - to any taste, for children and adults, hotels’ staff and taxi drivers.
